Fran is a Warwickshire-based author and probably-retired English teacher who wrote short pieces of fiction, non-fiction and poetry before deciding to make a little more effort. 'Miss, What Does Incomprehensible Mean?', her funny teacher-memoir, was published by SPCK in 2020 and 'Cuckoo in the Nest', her first full-length novel, came out with Legend Press in April 2023 in paperback, e-book and audio. She wrote extensively for the then Times Educational Supplement about education and her work has been widely published elsewhere including in MsLexia, Emagazine and competition anthologies. In 2016, Fran spent a year on the prestigious Writing West Midlands Room 204 mentoring programme for emerging writers. She is married with three grown-up children and two grandchildren, is involved in her local church, and is a care experienced person.
